India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has successfully undergone sports hernia surgery in Germany. This isn’t the first time he has faced such a procedure — he previously had hernia surgery in January 2024 and underwent ankle surgery in December 2023. After the latest operation, Suryakumar shared a photo on his social media, updating fans about his recovery.
He wrote, “Underwent surgery for a sports hernia in the lower right abdomen. Grateful to share that after a smooth surgery, I’m already on the road to recovery. Can’t wait to be back.”
IND vs BAN T20 SERIES
India and Bangladesh will face off on Bangladeshi soil starting August 26. Earlier in 2024, India had clinched a clean 3-0 victory in the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. However, if Suryakumar Yadav doesn’t recover in time, there’s a strong possibility that vice-captain Axar Patel will lead the team in the series.

In December, India will host South Africa for a multi-format series. The five-match T20I leg of that series is scheduled to take place from December 9 to December 19.
